Can I Fly to the San Blas Islands?

Technically, yes — it is possible to fly to the San Blas Islands, but it’s not a common or recommended option for most travelers.

The only airstrip in the region is El Porvenir Airport (PVE), a small landing area located in Guna Yala. Flights are limited, infrequent, and not operated by commercial airlines. Because of this, we do not offer or organize flights as part of our trips, and we are unable to assist with flight logistics.

Why don’t we recommend flying?
  • Flights are often charter-only, weather-dependent, and very costly
  • The airport is not near most islands where overnight stays or tours take place
  • There’s no ground infrastructure to transfer you from the airstrip to your accommodation
  • It falls outside the scope of our local partnerships and Guna Yala tourism regulations

Instead, we offer safe, scenic ground and boat transfers from Panama City directly to the islands — this is how the vast majority of guests reach San Blas. It’s reliable, immersive, and part of the adventure.

If you're looking for the easiest, most hassle-free way to reach paradise, we’ve got you covered.
